Moscow court freezes Beeline dividends over Telenor case

A Moscow court has stopped Russian mobile operator Vimpelcom from implementing motions carried at the 21 May general shareholders' meeting, reports Vedomosti. The court has blocked the decision to pay RUB 18.9 billion in dividends and to transfer funds to the accounts of other entities. The powers of the management board and the auditor have been suspended. The restriction will be valid until a decision comes into force regarding national competition watchdog FAS' claim concerning Telenor's stake in Vimpelcom, which the regulator alleges was taken without the prior agreement of the government, as is necessary under Russian foreign investment law.
