Motorola launches new phones in China

Motorola is launching four products in China, including the new Moto X, Moto X Pro, Moto G and Moto Hint phones and accessories. This is the brand's first major launch in China since it was acquired by Lenovo.

The Moto X is made with a metal frame, runs on Android Lollipop and features a 5.2-inch full HD display, and enhanced voice and gesture control. Earlier in the month, consumers voted on the colours and materials they wanted first for the Moto X. Now, six of the most popular choices are available for pre-order at Motorola.com.cn, JD.com, T-Mall, Gome, Suning and DXT in 16 GB models for RMB 3,299 online. The most voted-for colour, turquoise, will be available at launch at a special price of RMB 2,999. Nature leather, bamboo and wood models with 32GB of storage are also available for pre-order, initially at Motorola.com.cn and JD.com, for RMB 3,699 online.

The Moto X Pro provides the same software experiences of the Moto X, including Moto Voice. It features a 6-inch Quad HD display, front-facing stereo speakers and a 13-megapixel camera with optical image stabilisation. The Moto X Pro will be available in China beginning in March.

The latest version of the Moto G features a curved design and colourful Motorola Shells. China is among the first markets to get the Moto G with LTE. In addition, the phone comes equipped with a 5-inch HD display, an all-day battery and stereo sound, scratch-resistant glass and a water-resistant coating. The Moto G will be available for pre-order in China beginning 10 February for CNY 1,299 with 8GB and CNY 1,499 with 16GB online, initially at Motorola.com.cn and JD.com.

The Moto Hint is a discreet wireless earbud. When paired with the Moto X, the user can ask a question like "Will it rain today?" or tell it to send a text message, all without touching or looking at the phone. Moto Hint is coming to China soon.

The Moto X and Moto X Pro support the 4G networks of all three Chinese carriers. The Moto G is available in two versions, one for China Mobile and China Unicom 4G networks, and one for China Telecom's 4G network, both with dual-SIM/dual-standby capabilities.
