Motorola to unveil US-made Moto X phone in October - CEO

Motorola Mobility intends to unveil a US-made smartphone called the Moto X by October, CEO Dennis Woodside announced at the D: All Things Digital conference. The handset will be made by Flextronics International near Fort Worth, Texas, creating some 2,000 jobs, Bloomberg reports. The Moto X will use two processors to improve battery life and will include sensors designed to understand users' needs, such as knowing when it is in a vehicle, Woodside said. Motorola uses parent company Google's Android operating system. Its US market share declined to 8.5 percent in March from 9.1 percent in December 2012, according to ComScore data.
