Movistar intros 100 Mbps triple-play FTTH offering
Telefonica will expand its FTTH-based broadband package offering, dubbed Trio Futura. In mid-August, the operator plans to add double- and triple-play FTTH services with broadband speeds of 50/5 Mbps. Additionally, this autumn, the operator will expand its fibre-optic offering with double- and triple-play packages with broadband speeds of up to 100/10 Mbps. The 50/5 Mbps double-play service will be available for EUR 58.84 per month. As a launch promotion, subscribers will receive the service with no subscription fee, and will be charged a discounted monthly fee of EUR 43.87 during the first six months of service. The 50/5 Mbps triple-play variant, which includes the Imagenio Familiar DVR service, will be available for EUR 75.77 per month. Similarly, as a launch promotion, subscribers will receive the service with no subscription fee, and will be charged a discounted monthly fee of EUR 54.87 during the first six months of service. Starting autumn, customers will be able to take up Movistar's Futura 100/10 Mbps FTTH double-play offering for EUR 64.87 per month or the 100/10Mbps triple-play service for EUR 85.77. As a launch promotion, subscribers will receive the services with no subscription fee, and will be charged a discounted monthly fee of EUR 43.87 or EUR 68.87, respectively, during the first six months of service. Movistar will also include the Grabador DVR service free of charge in its Imagenio Familiar packages for Futura subscribers. Via the advanced set-top box, live-TV viewers will be able to pause, rewind, and record one channel while watching another. In addition, the device features a HD DTT enabling users to access HD channels without purchasing additional equipment. In the fourth quarter, Movistar will enhance its Imagenio offering, via the integration the Dolby Digital sound system, as well as the addition of new HD channels, including Eurosport HD, Unitel Clasica HD and MGM HD.
