Mozilla appoints Gal as CTO
Mozilla has announced the appointment of Andreas Gal as its new chief technology officer. Gal joined Mozilla more than six years ago to apply his PhD research to advance the javascript engine that powers Firefox. In his new role, Gal will have responsibility for leading technical decision making, representing Mozilla externally on technology, and managing its R&D programmes. He will also continue to serve as vice president of mobile.
