Mozilla makes Yahoo default search engine on Firefox
Yahoo has signed a 5-year partnership agreement with Mozilla to make Yahoo the default search experience on Firefox across mobile and desktop in the US. Yahoo expects the partnership with Mozilla to help it expand its reach in search and strengthen its cooperation with Mozilla in search, communications, and digital content. Yahoo and Mozilla will also collaborate on future product integrations and expansion into international markets.

Yahoo search, which replaces Google on Firefox, will launch first to Firefox's US users in December and then to all Yahoo users in early 2015. Users of the Firefox browser in the US will be automatically routed to search results on Yahoo's website when they type a query into the small box that appears at the top of the browser. "It's one of the largest independently-directed search share opportunities available in the market," said Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer.
