MTC launches LTE service in Namibia

Namibian operator MTC has become the second operator in Africa to launch LTE technology, covering large parts of Windhoek. The whole of the capital is expected to have 4G access by the end of July, and MTC aims to have 45 percent of the Namibian population, including those in rural areas, covered by the new service in the next 12 months. MTC's new 'Netman 4G' services are offered via three devices, the Samsung Galaxy TAB 8.9 LTE tablet computer, the Samsung Galaxy SII LTE smartphone and an MTC-branded 4G dongle modem. MD Miguel Geraldes said customers will benefit from a faster speed with no latency, which is significant for business.
