Russian mobile operator MTS has introduced its new ‘Wallet MTS Money’ service for customers to access financial services from MTS as well as earn bonuses and discounts. The new service will combine various payment tools – the balance of the MTS electronic wallet, the prepaid mobile balance and bank cards.
Customers will be able to perform payments and transfers from the electronic wallet, using smartphones or through the website, even if they don’t have a bank account. The service can be used by downloading the ‘MTS.Money’ mobile application or visiting the special online portal. Top-ups of the electronic wallet are possible using bank cards from all Russian banks. MTS Bank acts as an issuer of the electronic money.
A transfer ceiling of RUB 60,000 applies, or RUB 200,000 for users of the online banking service from MTS Bank.
MTS plans to expand functions of the service. In the course of this year, the service, including payments from a prepaid balance, will be available for subscribers of all Russian mobile operators. The 'MTS Money’ service will be combined with the online banking service from MTS Bank.
