Music streaming service Simfy launches in Belgium
Germany-based music streaming service Simfy has launched its music streaming service in Belgium after signing agreements with all major labels, the key aggregators for independent labels and Sabam, the Belgian society of authors, composers and music publishers. Music fans can listen to 13 million songs at www.simfy.be on the website or using the simfy desktop player free with the advertising-financed simfy Free service. With the monthly subscription options starting at EUR 4.99 users get access to the premium services free of advertising, include the offline mode allowing users to download music to their devices and computers, and access to the iPhone, iPad, Android and BlackBerry apps. The website, simfy Player and mobile apps are all available in French as well as Flemish. Simfy is already available in Germany, Switzerland and Austria and has more than 1 million registered users.

Belgacom signs exclusive deal with Deezer

Belgacom has signed an exclusive deal music streaming service Deezer. Under the terms of the agreement, Belgacom customers will get access to more than 13 million tracks available with the music service. Belgacom will integrate unlimited music subscriptions to a number of internet and mobile packs. The operator plans to launch its new "Deezer for Belgacom" service in the coming weeks. Details on the commercial offering will then be disclosed.

Simfy launches Premium, PremiumPlus subscriptions

Germany-based music streaming service provider Simfy has launched a new tariff called simfy Premium offering access to more than 13 million songs to EUR 4.95 per month. The subscription offers access via the Simfy desktop player or the simfy website. The monthly fee is available for customers signing up before 15 October. At the same time, Simfy offers PremiumPlus including mobile and offline access to the songs as well for EUR 9.99 per month.

German music streaming portal simfy has launched an app for BlackBerry smartphones. The application is already available at the simfy website. Once the application has been downloaded, users can access around 11 million music tracks. simfy's user interface has been adapted for BlackBerry devices. Users will have access to simfy's music catalogue, and will be able to create playlists and listen to music also in offline mode.

German music streaming portal Simfy has radically renewed its iPhone app including a revised user interface offering more stability and speed. The new app enables users to download entire albums, all marked favorites and created playlists for the off-line mode and an integrated discover area for browsing new releases and classic with their phone. Simfy also included a shuffle of play list function in the app by shaking the device.

Simfy files anti-trust complaints against Apple

German online streaming music service provider Simfy has filed an official complaint with the Federal Cartel Office against Apple. It plans to file a similar complaint with EU anti-trust authorities shortly. The complaint focuses on delayed approval from Apple for the Simfy iPad app, with the approval process for the app's admission to the App Store lasting for more than three months.
