Myspace launches mobile website, iPhone application
Myspace has launched a mobile website and iPhone application to further extend the site's social entertainment to mobile devices. The Myspace mobile website is accessible on all iPhone, iPod Touch, Android, Palm and select Nokia and BlackBerry devices and provides users with music related breaking news and status updates from top artists, video related TMZ, Fuel TV, FOX, National Geographic, Movie Trailers and more, celebrity related status updates, photos and blogs. The Myspace mobile website enables to share photos, videos, links, status updates and more across multiple networks and the option to access without logging in. The Myspace iPhone application is centred on the activity stream. In addition to providing updates from the top celebrities and artists on Myspace, the application will automatically populate a user's stream with the trending activities of musicians based on the titles in the user's iTunes library. Much like the mobile website, the iPhone application will provide tools for sharing across networks and will not require users to be logged in. As part of Myspace's mobile application portfolio, the iPhone application will be a complement to the other mobile applications currently available including Myspace Music Videos that offers music fans an expression of randomised video discovery based on their mood via MySpace Music Romeo application on the web or iPad. It includes Drawler for iPhone which is a photo styling application that allows drawing, colouring or adding stickers, art, words and more to mobile photos and Logo a Gogo which is a project providing users with artistic tools to create, personalise and share their own Myspace logos. To access the Myspace mobile site users can visit m.myspace.com. The Myspace iPhone application will be available for download in the iTunes store in the coming weeks.
