EACh, the European Affairs Channel, brings unique coverage from Brussels
EACh, the European Affairs Channel, today was launched as Europe's first broadband TV channel fully dedicated to the coverage of European politics. The channel can be seen at www.europeanaffairs.tv.
The new channel operates with the award-winning TelVOS television operating system developed by U.K.-based Narrowstep Inc. TelVOS has already been implemented for more than 60 broadband TV channels worldwide.
EACh, via www.europeanaffairs.tv, brings revealing and insightful news reports from Brussels and national capitals, hard-hitting interviews with leading EU newsmakers and debates that don't ignore controversial views. The content will be 100% European. EACh operates as an independent news organisation.
EACh seeks to finance itself with income from advertisements and by syndicating and hosting video-content. The platform offers new opportunities for organisations that try to reach an audience with a strong interest in the ongoing day-to-day affairs at the European Union.
The channel's target audience ranges from bureaucrats in Brussels and government officials in all of the 25 national capitals, to students, voters, and ordinary Europeans. EACh aims to provide a useful 24/7 On Demand TV-service to viewers across all European member states.
The channel has been set up as a multicountry project initiated by Maastricht-based The European Affairs Channel BV in partnership with Brussels-based production company Zootalures BVBA and London-based Narrowstep.
The channel uses English as a central language, as this is the most widely understood language in Europe. Many programs however will also be aired in their original language since EACh believes that anyone interviewed on the channel, be it a minister, or a person on the street of a European city, should be able to express himself in his native language.
The flagship program on EACh will be a daily news program from Brussels, which will go on air in the evening and can be viewed on demand at any time. Every episode will cover the day's EU news with a team of multilingual, international journalists.
Another regular feature on EACh is "European Voices." This program enables everyone in Europe to speak freely about the EU. Every episode includes the views from people in a particular city. "European Voices" also a must-watch item for political decisionmakers in Brussels and elsewhere who wish to stay in touch with public sentiment.
