NetAmerica adopts Bonfire brand for LTE services

The NetAmerica Alliance announced the new brand name Bonfire for its LTE consumer service as well as the launch by member Panhandle Telephone Cooperative (PTCI) of LTE services. PTCI will go live with LTE service in rural Oklahoma at the end of March. Its LTE network consists of 45 towers covering 5,000 square miles and nearly 30,000 people. The NetAmerica Alliance, launched in early 2011, groups a number of rural carriers in the US working together on launching LTE services. A year ago it hired Ericsson to build an IMS 'SuperCenter' to support their services, and the IMS network is going live alongside PTCI's launch.
