NetCologne rolls out 400 Mbps connections for households

German network operator NetCologne has confirmed plans to double maximum broadband speeds for households from 01 April to 400 Mbps. This comes one year after it launched 200 Mbps connections for private customers. The new 400 Mbps connections will be available across the whole NetCologne cable network and will support upload speeds of up too 40 Mbps.

New customers can save over EUR 200 and will get the first three months free with a 24-month contract. The remaining 21 months will be charged at the standard rate of EUR 69.90 per month.

NetCologne connects more Frechen areas to fibre network

German regional network operator NetCologne has connected three more districts of Frechen to its fibre-optic network, namely Benzelrath, Buschbell, Grube Carl and Huecheln. These will be followed by the districts of Habbelrath and Grefrath.

NetCologne connects Huerth Efferen to fibre grid

German regional network operator NetCologne has connected the third district in Huerth to its fibre-optic network. Broadband connections up to 100 Mbps are now available to residents in Efferen. The next roll-out phase concentrated on the Fischenich and Kendenich districts, which is expected to be completed by the summer.

NetCologne to provide Libur with VDSL

Regional operator NetCologne announced the launch of broadband expansion works in the Cologne district of Libur on 8 April. All 500 households will be able to connect to connections of up to 100 Mbps after the completion of the project, which is scheduled for the autumn.

NetCologne to acquire 70% stake in Haubner IT

NetCologne has announced plans to acquire 70 percent of the shares of Cologne-based company Haubner IT, to expand its business portfolio in the cloud security and telecoms security segments. The acquisition is subject to the approval of the cartel office. Haubner IT remains under the direction of managing director Thomas Haubner. Patrick Hoerner, currently the head of controlling at NetCologne, will be second managing director.

NetCologne rolls out fibre broadband network in Leichlingen

German network operator NetCologne has partnered with utility Stadtwerke Leichlingen to deploy fibre broadband connections in Leichlingen. This will provide around 14,000 households and 550 businesses with access to superfast broadband connections up to 100 Mbps. Work will begin in May, with Stadtwerke Leichlingen building the network and NetCologne installing network cabinets and operating the network. The first customers will be connected in spring 2017, with the project completed by summer 2017.

German regional network operator NetCologne confirmed that 1 in 6 households in Windeck are now using high-speed broadband connections from the company. NetCologne completed the roll-out of high-speed broadband in Windeck more than 12 months ago.

NetCologne connects first Erftstadt areas to fibre network

German regional network operator NetCologne has connected the Liblar and Blessem areas of Erftstadt to its fibre-optic network. This supports high-speed broadband connections up to 100 Mbps. NetCologne is building the network in co-operation with partner RWE. Liblar and Blessem are the first of seven areas of the town to be connected to the fibre-optic network.

German regional network operator NetCologne has connected Frechen to its fibre-optic network, built in co-operation with partner RWE. The first phase has been completed, with superfast broadband connections up to 100 Mbps now available to residents in the Bachem, Frechen Zentrum, Koenigsdorf and Neubuschbell areas.

NetCologne is expanding its fibre network in the northern Cologne neighbourhoods of Roggendorf/Thenhoven and Worringen. The internet provider will connect residents to its fibre grid, offering speeds of up to 100 Mbps. The project is expected to complete in the autumn.

NetCologne connects parts of Huerth to fibre

German operator NetCologne has announced the launch of its fibre-optic broadband service in the Efferen area of Huerth. As a result, residents now have access to superfast broadband connections up to 100 Mbps. NetCologne started rolling out the fibre network in Huerth Berrenrath and Gleuel in November. The completion of the expansion work in Huerth is expected at the end of the year when all 24,000 households will have access to NetCologne's fibre grid.

NetCologne to connect first parts of Bornheim to fibre

Netcologne announced it is about to complete its first construction phase of its fibre deployment in the city of Bornheim. The roll-out is a partnership between city utilities provider Bornheim AoeR and NetCologne. The first nine boroughs will be able to order broadband services up to 100 Mbps. The remaining five boroughs are to be connected by the end of the year.

NetCologne is expanding its fibre network in the southern Cologne district of Meschenich. The internet provider will connect 1,650 households and 30 businesses to fibre, offering speeds of up to 100 Mbps. The completion of the project is expected in the autumn.

NetCologne completes fibre expansion in parts of Bergheim

NetCologne announced that it has connected the Thorr district of Bergheim to its fibre network. Residents are now able to receive download speeds of up to 100 Mbps. Cooperating partner, energy supplier RWE, laid the cables, and NetCologne used vectoring technology for the expansion.
