Netflix has confirmed the launch of an option to download content from its VoD library, rather than streaming. In a blog post, the company said customers had expressed interest in being able to watch the content while on planes and other places where internet is expensive or limited.
Netflix said many series and films are already available for download, including Orange is The New Black, Narcos and The Crown, and the feature is included on all its subscription plans. Downloads work over the latest version of the iOS and Android apps.
