Netflix users watched 1 bln hours of content per week this year
Netflix users watched an average of 1 billion hours of content per week during 2017, translating into over 140 million hours per day. The most popular day so far was 1 January. The average member watched around 60 movies in the year. At the end of the third quarter, the company had over 109.2 million subscribers, with almost half of them in the US.

TechCrunch noted that the numbers suggested viewers may be watching less hours of content than in previous years. No similar metrics were provided for 2016 but at the end of 2015, Netflix announced that its 74.7 million users had watched 42.5 billion hours of content. The figures translate into 570 hours per year per account, compared to the 480 hours per account this year.
