NetZero launches no-contract mobile broadband service
US ISP NetZero has launched its own mobile broadband services, promising no contracts and lower prices compared to the major mobile operators. Customers can buy a USB modem for USD 49.95 or a Wi-Fi hotspot router for USD 99.95 and then receive 200MB free a month. Other plans include 500MB for USD 9.95 per month, 1 GB for USD 19.95, 2GB for USD 34.95 and 4GB for USD 49.95. To conserve data use, customers can control the speed, setting a maximum of 1Mbps or 10Mbps. If they exceed the monthly data amount, they can upgrade to a higher plan or buy data top-ups. The service is available in over 80 cities using the Clearwire Wimax network.
