Cisco CEO Chuck Robbins began his first day on the job with a blog post where he put forward his goals and plans for accelerating the company’s leadership in the digital age and announced two executive appointments. Zorawar Biri Singh will become SVP and CTO of Platforms and Solutions and Kevin Bandy the SVP and chief digital officer.
Singh will further the company’s strategy of anticipating customer and industry transitions, and define the technology strategy to stay ahead of the market, setting the foundation for long-term investments. He will also work the strategy team to align technology and business strategy with corporate development priorities.
Bandy will help define the next generation digital strategy. He will work with teams across Cisco to design a comprehensive vision for the company and its customers, leveraging its portfolio of systems and services. He will work the Operations and IT teams to execute the digital strategy throughout the company.
Robbins noted that as data becomes the most strategic asset, the ability to speedily secure, aggregate, automate, and draw insights from the data will ultimately define success. Cisco, Robbins said, will continue to bring computing to the data, with analytics, insights and actions.
