Nigeria reaches 53,460 3G and 4G base stations, fibre networks reach 54,725 km

The number of 3G and 4G base transceiver stations (BTS) in Nigeria has increased from 30,000 to 53,460 in the last five years and fibre-optic transmission cables have expanded from 47,000 km to 54,725 km, according to Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) head Umar Danbatta. He said this has improved broadband and telecom service delivery .
