NLE reaches 50,000 telecom customers, 40% came from Ziggo

NLE has reached around 50,000 telecom customers, according to research by the Telecompaper Consumer Insights panel. A year ago the group said it had 30,000 customers and aimed to grow to 200,000 within a few years. Telecompaper estimates that NLE added around 7,000 customers since the end of Q3 2017.

Around 40 percent of the NLE customers were former Ziggo subscribers, in line with Ziggo's market share in broadband. While KPN also has around 40 percent of the Dutch broadband market, only 28 percent of NLE customers say they used to use KPN or its subsidiaries Telfort and XS4ALL. T-Mobile is over-represented, as the former provider of 7 percent of the NLE customers.

NLE was acquired earlier this year by Nuts Group, giving it new room for cross-selling. In a response to Telecompaper's research, the company said it was spending a significant amount of time and focus on implementing the takeover. However, the new management is very satisfied with the results achieved and plans to continue with the same strategy, the company added.
