Nokia acquires mobile OS developer Smarterphone
Nokia has acquired Norway-based mobile OS developer Smarterphone. Financial terms related to the deal have not been disclosed. Smarterphone develops an OS for feature phones that aims to provide a user experience similar to smartphones. The acquisition took place in November 2011, according to investment firm Ferd Capital, which says it has invested over EUR 6.5 million in Smarterphone since 2007.
