Nokia completes divestment of Vertu to EQT VI
Nokia has completed its divestment of Vertu, the UK-based mobile phones specialist, to private equity firm EQT VI. The transaction was originally announced on 14 June. As part of the transaction, approximately 1,000 employees have transferred with Vertu. Nokia retains a 10 percent minority shareholding in Vertu.

UK-based luxury phonemaker Vertu has launched its first Android smartphone, which features a titanium frame and sapphire screen but no 4G connection. Vertu maintains CEO, names Vanjoki as chairman

Nokia has completed its divestment of Vertu, the UK-based mobile phones specialist, to private equity firm EQT VI. Vertu CEO Perry Oosting will continue to lead the business. Oosting was appointed CEO of Vertu in 2009. Oosting and his management team will be supported by a newly appointed non-executive board, chaired by former Nokia executive Anssi Vanjoki.

Nokia rondt verkoop Vertu af

Nokia heeft de desinvestering van Vertu afgerond. De Britse producent is verkocht aan de private investeerder EQT VI, Nokia houdt een belang van 10 procent. De transactie is op 14 juni aangekondigd. Ongeveer 1.000 medewerkers krijgen een nieuwe werkgever. Vertu gebruikt Symbian als basis voor zeer exclusieve handgemaakte mobieltjes en heeft naar verluidt een hoog marktaandeel in dat niche-segment.
