Nokia outsources IT, over 1,100 employees affected
Nokia has outlined plans to outsource its IT organisation, affecting around 1,120 employees. A total 820 employees with transfer with the IT operations to HCL Technologies and Tata Consultancy Services. TCS said it will take over management of Nokia's core applications for enterprise resource planning, customer relationship management, product lifecycle management, supply chain management, enterprise information management (EIM) and corporate functions. 

Another 300 employees at Nokia's global IT organisation will be made redundant. The plan is part of the broader restructuring at Nokia aimed at lowering costs as the handset maker suffers a drop in sales. The majority of the employees affected by the IT outsourcing are based in Finland.
