Nokia Siemens sells fixed broadband business to Adtran

Nokia Siemens Networks has agreed to sell its fixed-line Broadband Access business (BBA) to Adtran. The deal includes associated services, intellectual property, the customer base and up to 400 staff which will transfer to Adtran. The agreement also includes provisions allowing Nokia Siemens Networks to incorporate Adtran products in its own offering. The transaction is expected to close by the end of April 2012. Adtran expects the acquired business will be neutral to diluted earnings per share for the first full year and accretive thereafter. No financial details of the sale were released. NSN said the divestment is part of its earlier announced efforts to refocus on core activities in mobile broadband.
