In addition to selling partner products alongside its own, Nokia wants to embed some partner components in its own portfolio. The company said this will add innovation in specialist areas without having to develop an in-house alternative. To support the integration with partners, Nokia will make public some of its own APIs. For example, its Liquid Applications platform, which puts an IT server inside the base station, is open to run third-party applications.
Finally, the company announced its first sales partner programme. This will allow partners to include Nokia products in their own portfolios and address markets where Nokia is otherwise not active.
