Northumberland to invest GBP 6.4 mln more in broadband

The Northumberland County Council announced that 3,200 more homes and businesses will get access to fast broadband thanks to a further multi-million pound investment in the iNorthumberland programme. The partnership between the Council and BT has already made broadband available to around 54,500 premises across the county. A further GBP 6.4 million will be invested, in addition to the GBP 23 million fund earmarked for the programme so far. This includes GBP 4.4 million from BT thanks to efficiencies in the first phase of the roll-out and a high take-up of the new broadband services. In
