Numeo launches triple-play satellite service

French ISP Numeo has launched a satellite triple-play service. The service uses a double satellite dish head pointing at a Eutelsat satellite for internet access and to an Astra satellite for TV services. The basic service uses the TNTsat service of Canal Plus and Astra, which transmits free-to-air DTT channels, with customers given the option to subscribe to CanalSat pay TV. For internet service the upload speed is 38 kbps but download speeds will rise to 3.6 Mbps from 1 July, compared to 2 Mbps at present.
