With the release of the second quarter figures later today, O2 Germany will show growth in customers base numbers as well as financially. In an interview with Financial Times Deutschland, O2 Germany boss Rudolf Groger says he is confident about the future of his company: "I feel we are on the right way to achieve our 2003 goal, to reach a two digit margin on basis of the operational result." The financial results will be a new chapter in the race with nearest rival E-Plus. Merger rumours have never faded, but at present the companies are only talking about beating the other. Groger aims at surpassing E-Plus in three years. O2 now holds 8 percent market share versus 12 percent for E-Plus.
