O2 UK to close O2 Wallet service at end-March
Telefonica UK has confirmed plans to close the O2 Wallet service on 31 March. In a statement, the company said that the market had changed and that it was closing the service to take time to examine new ways to help people manage their money on the move. After 31 March, customers will not be able to use their O2 Wallet or O2 Money Account Card anymore - that includes sending or receiving Money Messages, using the O2 Wallet or card to shop, buy train tickets in the app or topping up. The O2 Wallet service was first introduced in 2012.

O2 UK has confirmed that its Pay Monthly airtime tariff prices will rise by 2.7 percent from 01 March, in line with the Retail Price Index (RPI) rate of inflation. O2 UK tests new 'O2 Clip It' video messaging service

O2 UK is testing a new video messaging service called 'O2 Clip It, powered by Wayra Academy graduate Six3. The public beta app is now available to download free for iOS and Android users on any UK mobile network. Clips can be up to 63 seconds long, with users able to add filters to a clip before posting it to their Facebook and Twitter feeds. Users can send their clip to any UK mobile number.
