OnePlus unveils OnePlus 6T smartphone with in-display fingerprint sensor

OnePlus has presented in New York its latest smartphone, the OnePlus 6T. The phone offers an upgrade of the OnePlus 6 launched in May, with several improvements in the specifications. It will go on sale 06 November from USD/EUR 549.

The 6T comes with a slightly larger Amoled screen, of 6.41 inches versus 6.28 on the OnePlus 6. It's also a slightly taller display, with higher resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels. The notch at the top of display is smaller, in the shape of drop, and OnePlus has integrated the fingerprint scanner into the display for the first time.

The 6T runs the same processor from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 845, and will be available in three models: 6 GB / 128 GB, 8 GB / 128 GB and 8 GB / 256 GB. As usual with OnePlus, there is no extra microSD card slot.

The camera hardware is the same as on the OnePlus 6, with a double 20- and 16-megapixel camera on the back and 16 megapixels on the front. However, OnePlus did improve the camera software, especially for taking photos in low light.

The company also increased the battery capacity, to 3,700 mAh from 3,300 mAh in the OnePlus 6.

The phone runs the Oxygen 9 platform, based on Android 9.0 Pie. According to OnePlus, it's implemented over 500 tweaks in the system to make it faster, more intuitive and user friendly. The company claims Oxygen OS offers the fastest graphics and the least glitches of any operating system.
