Ono mulls TeleCable acquisition
Spanish cable operator Ono has confirmed it plans to acquire Spanish regional cable operator TeleCable, EFE news agency reports. TeleCable operates in the Spanish regions of Asturias and Extremadura. Via the TeleCable acquisition, Ono plans to expand its operations in these two regions. Spanish savings bank Cajastur recently announced it is in "advanced" talks to sell its 91.8 percent stake in Spanish regional cable operator TeleCable. Cajastur also said it received offers from six investment funds for its TeleCable stake.

Carlyle confirms TeleCable acquisition

Private equity giant Carlyle Group has confirmed it has agreed to acquire an 85 percent stake in Spanish regional cable operator TeleCable from Spanish savings banks Liberbank (Cajastur). Carlyle acquires 80% stake in Telecable – report

Private equity giant Carlyle Group has acquired an 80 percent stake in Spanish regional cable operator TeleCable, Cinco Dias reports, citing sources close to the deal. Spanish savings bank Cajastur owns 92 percent of TeleCable, while Prensa Iberica owns the remaining 8 percent. According to the same sources, Carlyle will invest around EUR 300 million in Telecable. Other bidders included CVC Capital Partners, Ono and Euskaltel. TeleCable saw its revenues increase by 13.8 percent to EUR 121 million in 2010,

Het Spaanse kabelbedrijf Ono bevestigt de plannen om de regionale kabelaar TeleCable over te nemen, schrijft EFE news agency. TeleCable is actief in de Spaanse regio's Asturias en Extremadura. Door de overname van TeleCable wil Ono zijn grip op beide regio's vergroten. De Spaanse bank Cajastur gaf eerder aan dat het in een vergevorderd stadium is met het afstoten van haar aandeel (91,8%) in TeleCable. Daarbij zou het biedingen hebben ontvangen van zes investeringsfondsen.

TeleCable wins 10 MHz spectrum in Spain

Spanish regional cable operator TeleCable has won 10 MHz spectrum in the 2.6 GHz frequency band in the tender held by the Spanish Ministry of Industry. TeleCable offered EUR 708,317 for the 10 MHz spectrum. TeleCable plans to use the recently acquired spectrum to build its own fibre optic network across Spain's Asturias region.
