Open IPTV Forum to define interoperable IPTV specification
The Open IPTV Forum has been established by industry leaders worldwide to define an interoperable end-to-end specification for delivery of IPTV services. The founding members of the Forum are AT&T, Ericsson, France Telecom, Panasonic, Philips, Samsung, Siemens, Sony, and Telecom Italia. The Forum will be open to participation from all players in the communications and entertainment industries worldwide at a later date. It will focus on development of open standards to help streamline and accelerate deployment of IPTV technology. The Forum will establish requirements and architecture specifications as well as protocol specifications later in 2007.
