Chinese technology company Oppo has become the first official smartphone partner, and first-ever Asian partner, of the Wimbledon Championships through its partnership with the All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC).
Oppo is also the official mobile phone partner to the International Cricket Council (ICC) and FC Barcelona. This new 5-year agreement marks the brand's first move into tennis and starts with the 2019 Wimbledon Championships. Oppo will use the Wimbledon brand to help growth its presence in the UK and Europe. The AELTC will benefit from Oppo's brand strength to expand the reach of Wimbledon in markets covered by Oppo, particularly China.
