Optimus, Microsoft to serve Portuguese SME market
Optimus, Microsoft, Primavera, Sisqual and PHC have recently signed a partnership agreement that aims at providing Portuguese Small and Medium Sized Enterprises with an innovative package of business applications featuring a truly mobile integrated solution of telecommunications and management software. From now on, by using a GPRS network with a Windows interface, managers will be able to access their companies’ business applications wherever they are. This provides mobile access to volume of sales, orders, inventories and Human Resources, thus making commercial teams working outside the company more profitable and providing a better service to customers. This solution was designed to guarantee the access to corporate applications and a mobile connection (voice and data) in a sole terminal while at the same time allowing SMEs to provide their collaborators an advanced management tool. For the entities involved in the partnership, this offer represents a rather competitive service for companies that are searching for more productivity and less investment, since it does not imply buying two terminal equipments to communicate and it facilitates the access to information anywhere and anytime. This solution is based on Optimus Personal Assistant (intelligent terminal), GPRS Optimus communications, Primavera, Sisqual and PHC systems already owned by the company, and the Microsoft Pocket PC Phone Edition operating system. In line with Optimus strategy of devising communication solutions that bring people closer together and create new experiments, this solution follows from the company’s positioning. It is important to highlight that in the second quarter of 2003 data revenues already represented 10.2% of Optimus total customer revenues.
