Oracle enters deal to acquire Apiary

Oracle entered into an agreement to acquire Apiary, maker of the APIFlow platform. The proposed transaction is subject to customary closing conditions. Each company will continue to operate independently until the transaction closes. If the deal is approved, Apiary's APIFlow and Oracle's API Integration Cloud products will be combined to deliver an application programming interface (API) creation and management platform in the cloud that will help companies manage connectivity complexity and API proliferation.

Apiary provides a front-end platform for designing, creating and governing APIs. Its APIFlow platform is used for developing APIs that share enterprise services and data and help create cloud-based applications and experiences. Oracle's existing API Integration Cloud already enables companies to consume, monetise, and analyse APIs.

Oracle reported progress in its shift to cloud-based products, with revenues from SaaS and PaaS up 73 percent in its fiscal third quarter to February. Google to buy Apigee API management platform for USD 625 mln

Google has agreed to acquire Apigee, the developer of an API management platform, for USD 625 million. Google offered USD 17.40 per share for the company, a small premium on its last closing price. Pending approval from Apigee stockholders and regulators, the takeover is expected to close by the end of 2016.

Red Hat has signed an agreement to acquire 3scale, a provider of application programming interface (API) management technology.
