Orange France launches Joyn app
Having already released in Spain, Orange France now has launched its "Joyn by Orange" app in metropolitan France, based on an upgrade of its "Contact et moi" app. Joyn by Orange allows customers to chat while sending files, videos and pictures. The iOS and Android app will progressively come preloaded on phones sold by Orange. For the time being, iPhone users can already conduct two-person chats and make video calls. Android phone owners can take part in group chats, make video calls and share pictures during calls. Orange indicates that full functionality across both platforms will become available in October. Joyn will be integrated in the Sony Xperia Z, HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphones from this summer, before being available on most Android and Windows phone next year.

Samsung's instant messaging service for mobile devices ChatOn has reached the milestone of 3 million users in Brazil. This represents approximately 4 percent of the global service base that today consists of 79 million. Deutsche Telekom has announced availability of the Joyn messaging service. The free Joyn app is available now in the Google Play Store and will be added to the Apple App Store soon. It will offer free chat and data transfer functions for all Telekom customers with tariffs including data or SMS all-network flat-rates.
