Orange Spain said it will begin phasing out its Amena brand starting next month, migrating all customers to its main Orange brand. The company’s move, which confirms an earlier report, comes shortly after it completed the merger of its Republica Movil brand into its Simyo brand. As a result, Orange Spain’s commercial offer is now made up of three brands: Simyo catering to the low-cost segment, Jazztel to the “value for money” market and the main Orange brand to premium customers.
The Amena brand was created by the Retevision group back in 1999 and subsequently relaunched by Orange as its low-cost brand in 2012. On a dedicated section of the Amena website, the company said customers will be automatically migrated to an equivalent rate from the Orange catalogue starting 13 September.
They will be notified by email and SMS a couple of weeks before the change takes place and will receive an extra 4GB in mobile data each month as well as automatic access to the Orange 5G network and the possibility of contracting Orange TV packs.
