OTE agrees to sell Telekom Albania for EUR 50 mln to Albania Telecom Invest
OTE entered into an agreement to sell its entire stake in Telekom Albania to the Bulgarian company Albania Telecom Invest AD for EUR 50 million. Albania Telecom Invest AD is controlled by Spas Roussev, the controlling shareholder of the Bulgarian incumbent telecom operator Vivacom, and by Elvin Guri, an Albania-Bulgarian investor. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including the approval by the competent local authorities and financing, and is expected to be completed within the first half.

Roussev to submit offer for Telekom Romania - report

Bulgarian businessman Spass Roussev is preparing to make an offer to Deutsche Telekom to buy OTE's subsidiary Telekom Romania, according to Capital.gr citing a statement given by Roussev to Bloomberg. Three other offers are being considered by DeTe and OTE, according to Romanian newspaper Ziarul Financiar. These were submitted by Orange, RCS&RDS, and a group of investors from the former Sovietic block. The same paper said DeTe and OTE want to sell Telekom Romania by the end of August.

OTE completes sale of Telekom Albania to Albania Telecom Invest

OTE said it finalised the sale of its entire stake in Telekom Albania to Albania Telecom Invest. The Albanian operator was sold for a total gross equity consideration of EUR 50 million. Albania Telecom Invest is controlled by Spas Roussev, the controlling shareholder of the Bulgarian incumbent telecom operator Vivacom, and by Elvin Guri, an Albania-Bulgarian investor.

OTE's management is thinking about creating three subsidiaries to provide specific services, both to OTE's existing clients and third parties, according to local paper Ekhatimerini.com. OTE expects the subsidiaries will undertake specific work and lead to an increase in the group's value.

Albanian regulator greenlights sale of Telekom Albania

Albania's Electronic and Postal Communications Authority (Akep) has granted preliminary approval for the sale of a 99.757 percent stake in Telekom Albania held by OTE to Bulgarian company Albania Telecom Invest, reports SeeNews. The agreement is also subject to approval by Albania's competition authority.

Greek operator OTE reported a small drop in fourth-quarter revenues and EBITDA, as growth in its home market was offset by continued weakness in Romania. The company aims to stabilise results in Romania this year, after restructuring. It also expects further growth in Greece in 2019, which along with lower capex, should help grow cash flow and shareholder returns.

OTE denies talks with Bulgaria's Roussev over Telekom Romania sale

Deutsche Telekom's subsidiary OTE denied having talks with Bulgarian businessman Spas Roussev over his intention to buy OTE's Romanian telecoms unit Telekom Romania together with a partner, writes Romanian paper Ziarul Financiar. Pieces of information about Roussev's alleged talks to buy the Romanian operator were published by Bulgarian paper Capital.bg, and Ziarul Financiar said rumours about DeTe's intention to sell its Romanian operation persist on the market.

There was a good deal of M&A news last week. It helped push the TP Stock Index European Telecoms up by 0.8 percent, still behind the EuroStoxx 50's gain of 2.1 percent. The week's absolute winner was Telekom Slovenije (+17%). Turkcell (+12%) and Turk Telekom (+8.6%) did well also, as the Turkish lira jumped. The casualties of week 3 included Italy's Go Internet (-11%), Intelsat (-9.5%) and Altice Europe (-9.2%).

Roussev in talks with Deutsche Telekom to buy Telekom Romania - report

Bulgarian businessman Spas Roussev is in talks with Deutsche Telekom to buy its subsidiary OTE's Romanian telecoms unit Telekom Romania together with a partner, according to Bulgarian publication capital.bg. Roussev has just bought Telekom Albania from OTE together with an Albania-Bulgarian investor Elvin Guri for EUR 50 million. Talks to buy OTE's Macedonian unit will be held later on with DeTe, Roussev said.

Telekom Albania Q3 revenue down 1.7%, EBITDA up 36%

Telekom Albania ended the third quarter of 2018 with revenues of EUR 17.7 million, down 1.7 percent year-on-year, according to data published by parent company OTE. Of the total, service revenues accounted for EUR 17.3 million, down 0.6 percent. Adjusted EBITDA improved 36 percent to EUR 3.4 million, giving an EBITDA margin of 19.2 percent (+5.3%).

Telekom Albania Q1 revenue up slightly, EBITDA improves strongly

Telekom Albania ended the first quarter of 2018 with mobile revenues of EUR 15.8 million, up 0.6 percent compared to the same period in 2016. Service revenues rose 0.7 percent to EUR 15.3 million, more than offsetting a 25 percent decrease in interconnection. Adjusted EBITDA was EUR 1.7 million (+112.5%), with an EBITDA margin of 10.8 percent (+5.7%). The customer base totaled 1.9 million subscribers at the end of March, up 3.8 percent compared to the same quarter last year.

Albania's Competition Authority has approved an agreement for the transfer of frequencies of the mobile operator Plus to Vodafone Albania and Telekom Albania. The spectrum transfer also was tentatively approved by the Electronic and Postal Communications Authority (AKEP), reports Ata.

Telekom Albania Q3 revenue down 7.2% to EUR 18 million

Telekom Albania ended the third quarter of 2017 with revenues of EUR 18 million, down 7.2 percent compared to the same period in 2016. Service revenues fell 7 percent to EUR 17.4 million (-7%). The company reported EBITDA of EUR 2.5 million, a drop of 30.6 percent year-on-year, and the EBITDA margin fell to 13.9 percent, according to the financial report of parent OTE.
