OTE confirms contact with Forthnet on Nova deal
Greek operator OTE confirmed it has held preliminary talks with Foregendo, the controlling shareholder of Forthnet, about the latter's Nova TV operations. OTE was responding to a letter from the Hellenic Capital Market Commission, following reports the company was in talks on a possible acquisition of Nova. 

OTE said it had "preliminary contacts" with Forgendo, but said there was no share-sensitive information to announce at this time. The company reiterated that it believes pay-TV is an area with growth potential and it "reviews all business options in this direction". 

Forthnet said in a statement that after contact with Forgendo, it had nothing to add to the story.

OTE makes takeover bid for Nova TV

Greek operator OTE has made a non-binding bid to acquire the pay-TV service Nova from Forthnet. OTE said the bid was worth EUR 250-300 million excluding debt and cash on hand. Forthnet confirmed the bid but did not provide further details. Its board will study the offer. OTE said the takeover will help it expand its pay-TV operations launched a few years ago. OTE eyes bid for Forthnet - report

OTE is preparing a takeover bid for Forthnet, owner of pay-TV platform Nova, Ekathimerini reports. Addressing OTE's general meeting, CEO Michalis Tsamaz said that OTE is "assessing the situation" at Forthnet and "is conducting the necessary contacts".
