OTE confirms new CEO for RomTelecom
OTE confirmed that Stefanos Theocharopoulos will be the new CEO of RomTelecom, a member of the OTE group of companies in Romania. Theocharopoulos will replace George Ioannidis, who steps down after 4.5 years in the management of the company. Michael Tsamaz, OTE CEO said "our goal is to create a telecommunications colossus in Romania that will bring value to the group and its shareholders and major improvements to our customer's user experience". Theocharopoulos is the CEO of Cosmote Romania since January 2008 and joined OTE group of companies in 2002. Before joining OTE he worked for O2 Germany, Dutchtone, Vodafone Hellas, the Fujitsu Telecom Research Center in the UK and Ericsson Hellas.

Cosmote Romania sales fall by 0.9% in Q2

Cosmote Romania reported a sales decrease of 0.9 percent year-on-year to EUR 114 million in Q2. EBITDA for the same period rose by 20.9 percent to EUR 22.6 million. Romania, OTE agree on Romtelecom listing

OTE, Romtelecom's majority shareholder, and Romania's government agreed following a meeting between OTE and Romania's Minister of Communications and Informational Society (MCSI) Valerian Vreme and other Romanian government representatives on a plan limited to 12 months for listing the shares held by the Romanian state in Romtelecom, OTE's CEO Michael Tsamaz told local daily business newspaper Ziarul Financiar. Romtelecom CEO Ioannidis to leave company on 1 July

Romtelecom's existing CEO Yorgos Ioannidis will leave the company on 1 July, Romtelecom officials told local daily business newspaper Ziarul Financiar. Romtelecom did not mention the name of his successor, but according to previous local media reports he will be replaced by Cosmote Romania's CEO Stefanos Theocharopoulos, who will be promoted to the position of CEO of both Cosmote Romania and Romtelecom. Romanian govt to meet OTE to discuss Romtelecom listing
