Over 1.4 bln to use facial recognition for payments by 2025

Monday 12 April 2021 | 11:33 CET | News
The number of users of software-based facial recognition to secure payments will top 1.4 billion globally by 2025, up from 671 million in 2020, according to a report from Juniper Research. The 120 percent growth will be fuelled by the low barriers to entry of the technology and the popularity of Apple's FaceID software, offsetting the challenges to facial recognition by face mask use during the pandemic.
