Polish operator P4, trading under the brand Play, has terminated its national roaming contract with Polkomtel, signed in 2006. The notice period is twelve months. The switch-off of the national roaming at the end of 2019 will be possible thanks to the construction of Play's own network, which at the end of the year will consist of 7,000 base stations. The company aims to reach 9,500 stations by 2021.
In line with its announced strategy, Play will cancel the other national roaming agreements and fully eliminate the associated costs, which for the first nine months of 2018 amounted to PLN 205 million. The needs of Play in the field of national roaming in the period 2020-2021 will be fully met by agreements with T-Mobile Poland and Orange Poland, the company said.
In December, the operator announced the switch-off of the national roaming with Orange.
