Patuano to step down as CEO of Italy's Edizione
The former Telecom Italia (TIM) CEO Marco Patuano is to step down as chief executive of the Benetton family holding company Edizione, which last year acquired a 29.9 percent stake in Spanish towers operator Cellnex from Abertis as part of its takeover by Italy’s Atlantia and German builder Hochtief. The entrepreneur Luciano Benetton revealed in an interview with La Repubblica that the former TIM boss wouldn’t be offered a second term as CEO of Edizione. His 3-year mandate ends on 24 May and he will be replaced by an Edizione insider, said Luciano Benetton.

Patuano was appointed chairman of Cellnex last July, replacing Tobias Martinez who stayed on as CEO.

Former TIM CEO Bernabe named chairman of Spain's Cellnex

Spanish towers operator Cellnex has announced the appointment of former Telecom Italia (TIM) CEO Franco Bernabe as its new non-executive chairman, replacing another ex-TIM CEO, Marco Patuano, who stepped down last month. Bernabe was chairman of Italian payment systems leader Nexi until February 2019, and has also chaired the GSMA and been chief executive of state oil company Eni.

Patuano resigns as Cellnex chairman

The former Telecom Italia (TIM) CEO Marco Patuano has confirmed his resignation as chairman of the board of directors of Spanish towers operator Cellnex. The confirmation comes a few weeks after Patuano announced he was stepping down as chief executive of the Benetton family holding company Edizione, which last year acquired a 29.9 percent stake in Cellnex from Abertis as part of its takeover by Italy's Atlantia and German builder Hochtief.

The ConnecT investment vehicle backed by the Edizione holding of Italy's Benetton family (60%) and the sovereign funds of Singapore (20%) and Abu Dhabi (20%) has confirmed that it's backing Cellnex's EUR 1.198 billion capital increase by subscribing a total of 20,052,791 million new shares, equivalent to 29.9 percent of the total. The former Telecom Italia (TIM) CEO Marco Patuano has been appointed non-executive chairman of Spanish towers operator Cellnex, replacing the company's CEO Tobias Martinez, who remains as chief executive. Telecom Italia announced that negotiations are underway on an agreement for CEO Marco Patuano to leave the company. No details on the reason for his departure or his replacement were given.
