Polish mobile operator P4's revenues up 4% in Q2, EBITDA grows 17%

Operating revenues of Polish mobile operator P4, working under the Play brand, totaled PLN 1.759 billion in the second quarter, up by 4.2 percent year-on-year. The increase came from service revenue growth of 6.1 percent and equipment sales up 2.8 percent.

Adjusted EBITDA increased by 17.1 percent to PLN 644 million, driven by an improved margin on service sales. The net profit was PLN 254 million, up from PLN 200 million in the year-earlier period.

Active subscriber base grew by 200,000 or 2.0 percent to 12.717 million. The total customer base reached 15.006 million, down by 0.2 percent. Postpaid subscribers formed 66.3 percent of the customer base, totaling 9.102 million. 

Capital expenditure of the company reached PLN 197 million in the period, up by 55.9 percent.

The operator owned 7,832 base stations at the end of June, up by 21.5 percent year-on-year, and 258 new base stations were deployed in April-June. The Play LTE network covered 98.1 percent of the country's population, and 23 percent of LTE base stations were upgraded to '5G Ready'.

For the full year, P4 expects EBITDA of PLN 2.3-2.4 billion.
