Public prosecutor investigates possible fraud at PT
Portugal's Prosecutor General has carried out searches at Portugal Telecom on suspicions of fraud related to an investigation into the company's financial investments, reports Reuters. According to a statement by the prosecutor's office, the investigation is conducted in cooperation with market regulator CMVM, the judicial police and tax authorities. Paulo de Sa e Cunha, the lawyer representing PT, told journalists that the case was covered by Portugal's legal secrecy laws, which mean that details cannot be made public.
