Qualcomm unveils Snapdragon 200, 400 processors

Qualcomm has announced two Snapdragon processors for the mid-level and entry-level handset market. Qualcomm previously announced plans for Snapdragon 600 and 800 processors for high-end smartphones and tablets.    

The Snapdragon 200 includes Quad ARM Cortex-A5 CPUs up to 1.4GHz per core, Hexagon QDSP5, Adreno 203 GPU, LPDDR 2 RAM, HD video playback, CDMA multimode/UMTS modem options, High-accuracy GPS, Multi-Sim capabilities of Dual Sim Dual Standby (DSDS) and up to 8MP camera support.

The Snapdragon 400’s CPU options include Dual Krait CPUs running at up to 1.7GHz per core, with aSMP, or Quad ARM Cortex-A7 CPUs at up to 1.4GHz per core. The Snapdragon 400 also includes an Andreno 305 GPU, support for all major modem technologies, including TDSCDMA, DC-HSPA+, 1x Advanced, W+G CDMA, and multi-Sim capabilities (DSDS and DSDActive), LPDDR2 or LPDDR3 RAM, and support for Miracast mobile-HDTV technology and an up to 13.5MP camera.
