Quam pays EUR 150 million in cash to E-Plus
E-Plus and Quam came to a so-called amicable agreement about the termination of existing business relations. Quam is the mobile operator joint venture between Telefonica Moviles and Sonera, which ceased all activities in Germany as the parent companies saw no future return for their investments. Quam will pay EUR 150 million in cash to E-Plus before the end of December 2002. The KPN Mobile unit has also the right to take over individual UMTS sites of Quam if these fit in the UMTS network rollout plan of E-Plus, it said.
