Rakuten Mobile achieves 1.77 Gbps on 5G network built with Altiostar vRAN software

Altiostar and Rakuten Mobile have announced a number of performance and scalability achievements for the Rakuten Mobile 4G and 5G Open RAN deployments. Rakuten Mobile launched its 4g network in April 2020. Five months later, Rakuten Mobile launched a commercial-scale, cloud-native 5G network, using Altiostar's Open vRAN platform. The 5G network has since demonstrated throughput of 1.77 Gbps.
