Realme unveils Realme 5 smartphone in India with 5,000 mAh battery, quad camera

Oppo's brand Realme has launched two new premium smartphones in India. The Realme 5, with a 5,000 mAh battery and quad camera, goes on sale 27 August from INR 9,999, and the Realme 5 Pro, with the faster Snapdragon 712 processor and 48-megapixel Sony camera, launches on 04 September from INR 13,999.

The splash-proof Realme 5 runs Qualcomm's Snapdragon 665 octa-core processor and the company's Android fork ColorOS 6. It comes with a 6.5-inch 'mini drop' screen with 89 percent screen-to-body ratio and the brand's largest ever battery, at 5,000 mAh, which Realme says can support up to 19 hours of watching YouTube or 8.5 hours of playing PUBG. The quad camera on the back includes a 12-megapixel main lens with 119-degree wide angle.

The Pro version upgrades the processor and adds Oppo's Vooc fast-charging system for the 4,035 mAh battery. It offers a 6.3-inch dewdrop display with 90.6 percent screen-to-body ratio for the Full HD+ screen.

The Pro model includes a Sony 48-megapixel camera sensor on the back and 16-megapixel sensor on the front, plus the same wide angle as the basic model. Realme also updated its diamond-cut iridescent finish with the new Crystal Design for the phone's body, which is offered in the colours Crystal Green or Sparkling Blue.

The new phones will be available with special offers through the payment channels Paytm and Mobikwik as well as with operator Reliance Jio.
