Netherlands-based mobile VoIP provider RingCredible has grown to over 500,000 users and expects to pass the 600,000-users mark by the end of September. It has moved to the top of the app download charts in Scandinavia where it recently launched a marketing campaign and is set to launch a campaign in Germany as well.
According to CEO Hans Osnabrugge, the company is focusing its marketing efforts on the Netherlands, Germany, Canada, India and the UK. It's also building partnerships to expand its distribution with travel companies such as Cheaptickets and Air Canada and hopes to announce its first deals with retail chains by the end of this year.
The group has been growing quickly, from just 50,000 users in January to 300,000 in March. The number of minutes called has increased an average 40 percent per month over the past four months. The expansion is helped by the EUR 550,000 investment RingCredible received in July from a group of private investors led by Brooklyn Ventures. In June it released a service for business users, and the company's also working on adding more languages and currencies to its apps.
