Rocket Internet buys 12.29% stake in Tele Columbus

German investor Rocket Internet has acquired a 12.29 percent stake in Tele Columbus, Wiwo.de reports. The acquisition of voting shares was carried out by Rocket Internet with its own funds.

Through the investment, the firm wants to put in place the strategic goal of building and expanding a global network of technology companies. 

Rocket Internet intends to acquire further voting rights in Tele Columbus by acquisition or other means within the next twelve months. However, it does not intend to exercise its influence on the boards of Tele Columbus or change its capital structure, the company said. 

After the announcement of the purchase, the share price of Tele Columbus climbed significantly, while Rocket Internet's share price barely reacted.
